The Media Post

Ok, so, there's no news so far (today) about aion, but it seems alot of people are still trying to download the new beta client.
So, I thought I was done, apparently I stopped at 33%, 4 hours later, 7%!
...NICE.

Anyway, seeing as we're all counting down the days until the 'open' beta opens, I thought i'd add some things that may pre-occupy your mind whilst waiting. (8 days and counting!)

Aion recently posted a new video, the aion lore CG movie.
Personally, it can be a bit slow, but after 1 minute 20, it's beautiful.
I just think that the more videos that aion make, the more that the story really builds up.
With 662 likes when it's just hit the 24 hour mark, you should check this out.

Want some more reading material?
Then if you haven't already (you'd be mad if you haven't..) then go check out the fan made and fan based aion wiki.
Not only is there a wiki to help you along your aion questing life, there's also a forum, where you can talk about aion topics.
www.theaionwiki.com
www.theaionforums.com

Ofcourse, there's more than just my blog that you can be looking at..
..but i'm sure you knew that anyway.
The official aion community blog site is where you can find any blog that interests you, but why would you want to do that when you've got this one?!
Well, if you did want more than one, here's the link.

Do you want to look at information 1 minute before I post it?
Well, there's the aion twitter accounts too.
These guys post information first via their accounts, and then a huge explosion takes place.
If you want to prove yourself as a real aion-lover, get following them!

Violent, and slow... Open Beta client is now downloadable!

Extra.. Extra!
Violent orca!
Actually.. i'm more concerned about the violence over Aion, the product of the new big announced news:
open beta client is now downloadable.

"Following our recent announcement regarding the commencement of Aion's open beta, we have taken steps to ensure a smooth setup and preparation process for all participants. While our Launcher will incrementally update your client, the new and patched Aion open beta client has been distributed to a select few partners around the web to prepare for our open beta test. To get your hands on it, you may visit FilePlanet or download it from GamersHell (available later this week)."

But there's also one bit of news:
You CANT get into the 'open' beta without pre-ordering the game.
Wait, what?
So, it's not open?
No, it's more like a closed beta, is it not?
Everyone's trying to get their hands on it, and apparently people are running as low as 10 kbs.
Fortunately, i'm from the UK, so my times are 'off-peak', compared to the US.
Alot of problems are being posted, mainly from me, but still.
Gameguard problem 114?
UAC?
EU/NA CLIENT?!
Seeing as the very kind people of aion helped me with these problems, i'll also help anyone that posts their questions on this post.

You can get the beta client from the official NCsoft updated, or fileplanet.
I also suggest visiting these links in the countdown... 9 days to go!

www.theaionforums.com
www.fileplanet.com (NCSoft also said that they are going to release 500 open beta keys to this site to give away, so get there!)

Open Beta: announced!

The end of the wait!
Personally, I think it's my blogging that sparked the news to be released...
/cough
What are your thoughts on this?
Remember to post your thoughts after looking at the beta news.
Remember to add to the poll!

Anyway, for those who do not know, here's the information:

AION'S OPEN BETA, PRE-SELECT AND HEADSTART PROGRAMS

August 27, 2009 8:58 AM

Within the next four weeks, we will treat European and North American gamers to two opportunities to jump into the world of Aion and explore Atreia as Asmodian or Elyos characters ahead of its release in Europe on 25nd September and North America 22th September. Aion's Open Beta Test featuring version 1.5 will take place 6-13th September and will include numerous Western enhancements, including improvements to Aion's innovative character customization with a host of Western styles, as well as new zones, instances, skills, quests and continued game balancing and improvements. Open Beta will retain a level cap for both Elyos and Asmodians characters at 30 allowing players to focus on getting to the same level so they can explore the lands of Atreia together, as well as the Abyss.

Players who have pre-ordered Aion will be treated to a Pre-Select and a two-day Headstart period giving them the opportunity to explore, organize and progress through the game prior to the official launch. Pre-Select will take place on 18th September, while Aion's Headstart will begin 20th September. Players can still participate in the Aion's Pre-Select and Headstart programs by pre-ordering the game through several participating online and brick-and-mortar retailers.

First post; ...open beta date?

Ok...so.
There's been HUGE (it's even in bold that it's so huge.. almost as huge as the building on this piece of concept art!) speculation over the open beta, and why wouldn't there be?
For me, personally, it's a chance to test how it runs on my trusty laptop, and just finding my bearings to begin with.
Facebook has 31 thousand 'fans' right now, and it just keeps growing day by day - and so does the posts.
Although, among the legion spam, and the 'WEN WIEL OPERN BUTER BE??!1' I think that there's a real community forming there, with people helping each other, posting links that may be useful, or posting polls. (Make sure to check the sites poll, too!)
But the real question for everyone is when will the open beta be out?
From some sources, apparently tomorrow.
From a new source, the 13th of september.
Who knows...what's your guess?
